This Privacy Policy explains how the Contractions app (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles your information. We built the App to respect your privacy: the information you record while using it stays on your device, and we collect as little as possible.

Information stored on your device

When you use the App, the following information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us or to any server we control:

• Your contraction timings, durations, intervals, and session history
• Your hospital bag checklist items
• The names and phone numbers you save in your loved-ones list
• Your in-app settings and preferences

We cannot see this data. It remains under your control and is removed when you delete the App or clear it within the App.

Purchases and subscriptions

If you buy a subscription or a one-time purchase, that transaction is handled by Apple. To manage purchases, restore them, and unlock premium features, we use RevenueCat, a subscription management service. RevenueCat processes limited information such as your purchase and subscription status, the App’s anonymous user identifier, and device/platform identifiers. We do not receive your name, payment card, or billing details — Apple handles payment.

Messaging your loved ones

The “notify loved ones” feature opens your device’s own Messages app with a pre-filled message that you choose to send. We do not send messages on your behalf, and we do not transmit or store your contacts or message contents. Sending is always your action.

No tracking and no ads

The App does not display advertising, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Data sharing

We do not sell your information. The only third parties involved are Apple and RevenueCat, solely to process and manage your purchases as described above.

Data retention and deletion

On-device data is kept until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App. Purchase records associated with your anonymous identifier are retained by RevenueCat and Apple in accordance with their respective policies and applicable law.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because your personal records are stored on your device, you can view, edit, or delete them at any time within the App. For questions about purchase data held by RevenueCat or Apple, please refer to their privacy policies linked above, or contact us below.

Medical disclaimer

The App is a timing and organization tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, monitor, or provide medical advice. Always follow the guidance of your healthcare provider, and contact your provider or emergency services if you have any concerns about your labor or your baby.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
